Anime Advanced Union Address

February 19, 2006

by: James Jursudakul

We talk about the current state of AA as well as what's coming from us in the future.

From: Vincent Del Vecchio

Hello everyone. This is your Anime Advanced Editor-in-Chief Vincent Del Vecchio. Today I would like to inform you about the state of Anime Advanced and, to a lesser extent, the entire Advanced Media Network. As everyone knows, Advanced Media is heading in a direction that I would never have dreamed about five years ago when I was hired as a news editor for GameCube Advanced. As my tenure as a GameCube Advanced news editor, I worked my way up to Senior News Editor and then started work on Anime Advanced. It was at that moment in time I could see the proverbial writing on the wall.

Since early 2004, Anime Advanced has been bringing you the latest anime news coverage and reviews. We’ve had our ups and downs and I’d like to say that the future looks like we will have many more ups than downs from now on. We all know that sometimes news is slow and releases are few and far between so we’ve taken the time to innovate. As some of you may have recently noticed, we’ve dabbled in anime game demo downloads for anime inspired PC games. I’d like to report that this has gone over very, very well and we plan to offer more in the near future. Also on the horizon are anime trailers. Those are coming as soon as possible and we continue to work with the parties involved to get them to you as quickly as humanly possible.

Well, that’s basically it for my “state of the Anime Advanced Union address”. So I hope you all enjoy the latest content we are trying to bring to you and be sure to check back regularly. Also, don’t forget this little something we have in the works called 2.0; which I’m sure you all have no idea what I’m talking about. . .

Greetings! The first big site update for Anime Advanced in 2006 is the addition of the “Anime Games” section. Here we will cover the Visual Novel games (Ren’ai, bishoujo, and other text-based games) that have become increasingly popular in North America. For those that are unfamiliar with the visual novel games, an excellent FAQ can be found here: http://renai.gwathyr.net/dsvn_faq_rev01.2.html#1.2.

I will be in charge of the Visual Novel section and to celebrate the opening of the brand new section we’ve added 122 new screenshots in the game section, as well as two downloadable trial editions for two of Hirameki’s Anime Play Interactive Visual Novel titles: Ai Yori Aoshi and Ever 17 -The Out of Infinity-. In addition, expect our first game review around the end of the month/early March with Ever 17 -The Out of Infinity- being the first Visual Novel title to get a review here at Anime Advanced. Expect reviews of Ai Yori Aoshi (PC) and Hourglass of Summer (DVD) to follow sometime in the future as well as some of G-Collection's titles.

Moreover, we’ve also updated the release list and database with a few new titles. Although we’re still relatively short staffed, expect the database to definitely be more up to date in 2006. We'll also be adding some new staff members, one of whom will also be working as part of the Anime Expo 2006 managerial staff. I thank everyone for the continued support. Please look foward to what we have to bring in 2006.

As you can guess already, we're here for the long haul. Anime Advanced 2.0 is almost here, and we're not taking anything away from our next secret weapon.

Anime Advanced will soon have our long-awaited exclusive anime trailers available on the site. When those come out, we can easily boast as being the first anime site to do that. Consistency, reliability, and FREE as being just of its features, there will soon be no other alternative for our dowloadable anime trailers.

Help witness the expansion of Anime Advanced up with the online anime elite - your Portal to the Anime Universe... The question is, are YOU ready?

Editor-in-Chief, Anime Advanced
